ACEO guide
What is an ACEO?
An ACEO is a small artwork made in the artist trading card size: 2.5 by 3.5 inches.
It can be a painting, drawing, collage, mixed media work, or another small original piece. The format is tiny, but the artwork is still real artwork.
The format
Small enough to hold, complete enough to collect.
ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals. The format uses the same size as a trading card: 2.5 by 3.5 inches.
Artists use the format for painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, and other small original works.

Originals and editions
Clarity matters.
Many ACEOs are one-of-a-kind originals. Some are small handmade editions if the artist clearly explains the edition size and process.
On Artminta, listings should make it clear whether the work is an original ACEO or a limited handmade edition.
Collectors
Why collectors like ACEOs.
ACEOs are easy to store, display, trade, and collect. They are small, but still made as real artwork.
They are a good way to buy original miniature art directly from independent artists.
Artists
Why artists create them.
The format gives artists room to explore painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, and other small original works.
Its scale keeps the focus on the artwork itself: materials, hand, composition, and the collector who will hold it.
